True to size but slightly narrow. So size up if you are in between sizes or have wider feet.
Note that the sandals are made of soft leather that slightly stretches after wearing a few times

I love the look of these and really like the padded footbed. However, the ankle strap is sewn to the heel strap in a way that causes the edges of both straps to angle in towards the foot, which hurts. I've also tried the Pons Avarcas with ankle strap and those are much better as the ankle strap and heel strap are sewn in a way that lies flat against the foot. (However, the Pons Avarcas don't have a padded footbed and aren't quite as attractive as the Spanish Sandal Co avarcas though - so I ended up returning those too). For now, I'll just have to wait until I'm Spain to buy some ankle strap avarcas with both a comfortable ankle strap and padded footbed.
